But is it?
I heard a excellent analysis on KLOVE (a christian music station) regarding this unfortunate debacle at the Oscars over the weekend. Yes, it’s funny to laugh at people who make mistakes. Especially huge glaring mistakes. Maybe he’s laughing at himself
Maybe he’s not. Maybe he’s really upset and angry and shamed that so many people across the world are slamming him, not just once but over and over and over again. He seems to be a man with a sense of humor and may get over it faster than you or I.
What if every mistake you or I ever made in our life became a meme that people could share over and over again?? How would you feel?
I am so, so, so unperfect, I will be the first to admit. I used to be the biggest grudge-holder in the world, my friends will tell you. Still am, in certain areas. Some things re much easier to get over than other things.
But this, for me, puts in perspective what it really feels like to be on the receiving end of someone holding a grudge. I will also be the first one to step up to the line and refrain from holding grudges/shaming people, remembering all the bad things they did whether out loud or in my head, over and over again. I will try, but I’m only human.
You know who doesn’t have to try? God in Heaven. His grace is endless, forever. unending. If we ask forgiveness, He gives it to us without question, without any conditions.
What do you think?
