Focus on Love

by Candee Fick

Contemporary Inspirational romance

Synopsis:

Free-spirited Elizabeth Foster turned her back on her father’s photography business to pursue musical theater, but a career on the stage remains second to a career behind the camera. The possibility of a one-show contract means she’s a few weeks from unemployment forcing her home, and her dreams of pursuing professional photography reemerge. With photography and theater opportunities unfolding before her, Elizabeth faces her biggest challenge yet—listening to her heart.

Meanwhile, sought-after photographer Ryan Callahan has put his career on hold to help his sister’s family, but the promise of a bigger assignment could lure him away so he can begin building a family of his own. With professional opportunities and personal obligations pulling at him, Ryan faces his toughest challenge—balancing family, relationships, and work.

If given the choice, what dreams would develop for Elizabeth and Ryan? And will they learn to trust each other enough to focus on love?

My thoughts

This is one of those happy stories, full of hope and giddy young love. I enjoyed it. The progression from a depressing situation to a hopeful, blissful, situation was exciting to journey through. Again, Candee Fick has a unique talent in her ability to deftly describe the arts in words. Not an easy task, I will admit. In her first in this series called Dance Over Me, she expertly, and beautifully describes the art of dancing with words. Here, she describes main character Liz’s passion of photography with superb beauty. I am yet again, blown away, by her ability to portray visual images so spot on. Not just the visual images of photography, but the changing of visual scenery. Absolutely amazing talent.

The Characters

I loved Liz of course, she was spunky, talented, and deeply hurting (love those tortured heroine/heroes). To watch her surge forward through the hurt of her family’s rejection and onward toward her passion of photography was such a thrilling journey. Her incredible passion for visual arts was palpable, leaping from the pages.

Recommended

Overall, this was such a fun story to read, especially if you’re a fan of the fine and visual arts as I am myself. it was romantic and engaging from page one. I highly recommend it.
